I was at her bridal shower and at her wedding at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Debbie was my neighbor in Trousdale Estates. Her parents and mine had become very good friends. Debbie was very sweet not a bad word could have been said about her. I last spoke to Debbie back in 2009 and she had told me that she had a bout with cancer and added it’s OK I’m fine. What I found to be so sad is that her mother diief at 45 from cervical cancer, her sister Marsha from cervical cancer, her brother and father also passed from cancer then Debbie. I remember I had a sleepover when we were sophomores and Debbie got ahold of some booze, got drunk and a couple of her friends put her in the shower and drenched her with cold water. So Debbie could be a good sport and gave us all a good laugh that night. I hadn’t seen Debbie in years and what was so sad is that at the time I did speak to her in 2009 I told her that if she ever makes it up to LA to call me and we’ll do lunch or dinner and she answered back if you ever come to Escondido to call her and she will call Rally her brother and we’ll all get together. I had learned after Debbie passed from Rally’s son Frances that Rally had passed in 2009. Moral of story- don’t put off what you can do today. You never know what’s around the corner. I will always have good memories of Debbie.
