I remember your wicked laugh. We shared the secret that only us in the "other building" did. You helped me through some of the worst days my last 2 years. Thank you for being my friend. I wish I would have been a better one for you! Rest easy until we eat again.
My friend, Munson Hinman, died December 22nd, 2013, of a heart attack at his home in Huntington Beach, CA.
I'd been in touch with Munson & Ulrike throughout the years following high school. We'd meet up in Santa Monica, where I lived, once or twice a year to catch up. I always enjoyed the time we spent together. Ulrike's radiant smile was, and is, unforgettable! When she died of ovarian cancer, the world lost a truly beautiful soul.
Munson reached out to me after Ulrike's passing. We became closer friends. He wanted the relationship to go even further - said Ulrike made him promise to try and find someone after she passed - but I wasn't interested in more than friendship. So we did platonic friend things. Ate out, went to movies, helped each other move, etc. I also got him into the Natural Products Expo West every year. He really looked forward to that show, and always had a blast there!
It's hard to believe he's been gone 7 years now. I don't know if it's just me, but time seems to be accelerating. I miss Munson & Ulrike very much. I keep wondering how much livelier the reunion party would be if she..they... were still with us.
Now, they're together again, so I hope they're happy souls are at peace.
